Rick's Comic City is a chain of comic book shops in Middle Tennessee and Kentucky. I was tasked with developing a new logo for them and, after some strategizing, came up with a research plan that involved some competitive analysis and looking through color swatches with the client. I incorporated a character that was created by the client into the logo to make the design more personal and to pique the interest of new customers. At the time I created this logo, Rick's was one small shop in Nashville, TN. It has since grown to numerous locations around Middle Tennessee and a location in Kentucky.

The client wanted an additional logo to use for specific documents that was a smidge more formal. I removed the character and added the RCC. Then, I made the shield into an oval to better compliment the space around the RCC text.
